Admission to programs

The process of applying for admission to the graduate-entry programs is separate from the process of registering to sit GAMSAT Ireland.

CAO (Central Applications Office) process applications for admission to graduate-entry medicine in Ireland for the following institutions:

University College Cork	CK791
University College Dublin	DN401
University of Limerick	LM101
Royal College of Surgeons	RC101

GAMSAT candidates are responsible for determining their eligibility to apply for admission to the graduate-entry programs.  Applicants should consult the CAO website (www.cao.ie) and/or the institution websites for the relevant eligibility criteria for admissions. If you have any questions in regard to your eligibility, please contact the Admissions Office of one of the institutions listed above well in advance of the application closing date.

The Central Applications Office (CAO) will be provided with your Ireland GAMSAT results for the current year and will pass these onto the institutions to which you have applied.

Please note: you must provide your CAO application number to the GAMSAT-IE Office when you apply for your examination. If you do not have a CAO Application number at the time of registering for GAMSAT, you should email it to them before the GAMSAT-IE test date.

If you do not provide your CAO application number, or if you give an incorrect number, this may affect the delivery of your GAMSAT results to the CAO and the institutions.

TIMELINE FOR ADMISSION

By 1 February 2012:	submit CAO application online
By 10 February 2012:	complete GAMSAT registration
24 March 2012:	Sit GAMSAT
Early August 2012:	Offers made to successful applicants

If you are using a previous GAMSAT score to apply, you must provide this score to CAO by the 15 July 2012.  CAO does not hold GAMSAT-UK, GAMSAT Australia or previous years GAMSAT-IE scores. If you have a score from one of these tests, you must send a copy of your results by post to CAO, Tower House, Eglinton Street, Galway by 15 July 2012.

Please include the test results, the test date, your GAMSAT ID and the verification code that is printed on your results; CAO will verify your scores with ACER
